I am an “almost” lifelong Montgomery County resident.  I moved with my parents and two sisters from Clinton, TN to Rockville when I was eleven and have stayed here ever since.  I’ve lived in Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, and Germantown since my adulthood.  I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and a retired Montgomery County Public School choral music teacher.  It was my prayer that when I retired, I could continue to use the musical gifts God gave me by serving in a church setting.  Grace UMC has been a wonderful match.  A lifelong Baptist, I decided to join Grace UMC last year because I feel it is important to be a part of the church community in all aspects as I serve.

 I have two grown daughters, one beautiful baby granddaughter and a soon to be born grandson!  They are the joy of my life.  I enjoy spending time with all of them and seeing my granddaughter, Madelyn, grow.  I am thankful we live near each other.

 I am happiest when I’m in the company of others.  I love conversation, group activities, and entertaining.  This summer I had the opportunity to teach voice to several Grace congregants and that was a thrill.   Music is such a passion of mine and being able to help others express their love for God throuservegh music is my goal.

Travel is a favorite pastime.  I’ve been to almost all of the continental United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, and the Caribbean.  I would like to visit Northern California, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the British Isles in the near future.  Anybody want to come along?
