Howdy Y’all, I am new to the Grace family of faith and I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I am a native Arkansan (that is pronounced Ark-an-saw; we hate it when you pronounce it just like the state of Kansas, Ha-ha).  I have been married to my beautiful wife Carla for 13 years, and we have a terrific 7 year old son Jonathan.   While I grew up as a Southern Baptist, and went to a Southern Baptist college and seminary I have sought to be a part of the Methodist fellowship because I find more kindred spirits among the more diverse peoples of the Methodist tradition.

While I was still in college in rural Arkansas I accepted my first position as a youth minister and have ministered among students of all ages in a variety of cultural settings.   I have ministered in rural Arkansas, inner city Texas, suburban Connecticut, New Jersey, and now Maryland.  My vision of a successful childrens, youth and family ministry centers on a great balance between group and team building activities that are exciting and fun; and community and missionally based service.  I am excited about the possibilities for ministry here at Grace because this seems so much like what ministry here is like.

Spending time with my wife and son are my primary interest.   We hike, spend time outdoors, and play Wii together.  I also enjoy reading, primarily cultural theology, ancient history, and the occasional work of fiction.  My other great interest is College Football.  I enjoy “calling” the Hogs (Wooo Pig Sooie) for the Arkansas Razorbacks and I like the luck of the Irish of Notre Dame.  I also cheer on any SEC football team, but I am considering Fearing the Turtle on the Saturday grid iron.
