I am a native of Delaware and a graduate of the University of Delaware - Go Blue Hens! After graduation I married, Joyce, who is also a graduate of the U of D. We celebrated 38 years of marriage on March 25. We have three grown sons: Joshua, Aaron, and Jonathan and are the proud grandparents of Katherine Joy and Megan Elinor who live close by and add to our joy and wonder. Following college I worked as a youth minister for a couple of years and then attended and graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Joyce and I enjoyed those years living in ”The Hub”, fellowshipping and serving at Park Street Church in downtown Boston and growing in our biblical understanding and skills for ministry. I have enjoyed serving churches in semi-rural, small town, suburban and urban settings. Each church has been a unique opportunity for ministry that has filled our hearts with wonderful memories and enriched our lives through the friendships and partnerships in ministry that continue to bless us. Some of the aspects of pastoral ministry that I enjoy most include: I have always loved the outdoors and have often experienced God’s presence when I am hiking or backpacking. In addition, I enjoy sports and am an enthusiastic golfer (Enthusiastic doesn’t equate to a “good” golfer, but I am currently working on rebuilding my swing. The pro often uses Tiger’s swing as the example, but he hasn’t yet said, “You look just like Tiger.”) I also enjoy doing building projects. As a college student I worked summers as a laborer for a masonry company. I learned to lay brick and block and finish concrete. I still do some masonry work and carpentry when I get the chance, most recently on some Habitat for Humanity builds. As a college student I was overwhelmed by God’s grace and made a life commitment to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Eventually, I sensed God calling me into ministry. Over the years I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of people come to faith in Christ Jesus and continue growing in their faith and faithfulness. I truly enjoy the privilege of being a pastor and seeing people grow deeper in their relationship with God. I have a passion for helping the church demonstrate to the world the wisdom of God and share with the world the unsearchable riches of Christ. |
